History

The husband and wife owners established this business in 2002 without any previous experience in retail or the caravan industry. After an unpredicted and very successful start with mainly second hand caravans for the first year the owners decided to take on the dealership for various Australian made caravans and off road camper trailers. Since the beginning of 2005 they specialize in niche market caravans and motor homes from interstate suppliers.

Due to it’s commitment to the product and outstanding customer service and reputation the business won the 2005 National Dealership Award for it’s main brand.

 

Location

The caravan yard itself is of attractive appearance on 3-leveled terraces with automatic floodlights, ample customer parking and fully fenced. A modern workshop and well-equipped office premises complete the picture.

 

Markets / Products

Due to the SA exclusive dealership for 2 current brands of caravans and motor homes (a third one is currently being negotiated) the market of this business is not only local but also statewide. A wide range of different caravan models is offered which suit singles, couples and families of all ages.

All brands are unique to the Australian market and of extremely high quality and luxury.

The business also always offers a good selection of quality second hand caravans and camper trailers from trade ins or on consignment.

They are agents for one of the largest caravan insurance companies, which produces further revenue.

 

 

Marketing

Regular advertising in Adelaide’s major newspaper and nationwide industry publications attracts interest and customers in SA and interstate. Representation at Adelaide’s 2 caravan shows per year has proven invaluable and is strongly supported by the suppliers financially and through personnel. There is scope to exhibit at other local and regional shows and trade fairs, which the present owners have not explored.

The business has a very active and regularly updated website which has proven to be very effective.

The suppliers undertake extensive advertising including regular editorials in Australian caravan magazines and publications.

Sales aids like high quality brochures and other promotional material is provided by the suppliers.

Being the only caravan dealership in the area, spare parts and accessories as well as general caravan services/repairs could be incorporated and become another successful branch of the business with big potential.
